Listening. Remembering. Moving Forward Together.

February 13 marks the anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations β€” a significant moment in Australia’s history that invites reflection, truth-telling, and responsibility.

For many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, this date carries deep emotional weight. It is a reminder of the profound harm caused by past government policies that forcibly removed children from their families, cultures, and communities β€” and of the long-lasting impacts that continue to be felt today, namely the intergenerational traumas.

At Nik&Co., we believe that remembrance must be accompanied by learning.

Within the Nik&Co. E-Learning Hub, we offer a dedicated course, The Stolen Generations in Australia, designed to support thoughtful, respectful engagement with this history. This course is grounded in education, lived experiences, and reflection β€” not to retraumatise, but to foster deeper understanding and responsibility.

Through story-led learning and guided reflection, the course explores:

  • The historical background and policy foundations of the Stolen Generations

  • How government policies were implemented and enforced

  • Life in institutions and foster care systems

  • The ongoing impacts and intergenerational legacies

  • The significance of recognition and the National Apology

  • Listening to the voices and stories of the Stolen Generations

  • Moving forward through accountability, healing and genuine reconciliation

Supporting individuals, communities, and corporates through meaningful learning that goes beyond awareness β€” helping participants understand why this history matters today, and how it shapes relationships, systems, and responsibilities into the future.

February 13 is not only a moment to remember β€” it is an opportunity to recommit to listening, learning, and walking forward with greater care because together, we can make a difference.

If you or your organisation are seeking a respectful starting point for learning, reflection, or workplace conversations, we invite you to explore this course within the Nik&Co. E-Learning Hub.

Thank you for choosing to learn with intention and humility.
This is how understanding deepens β€” and how healing is supported.

With respect,
Nik&Co. x
